Kalach & T.A.X: Respect for the Ecology

ALBERTO KALACH is an architect working in Mexico City whose practice, Taller de Arquitectura X has created many exceptional public works.

We showcase here some of the beautiful homes and gardens his team have created, which in all cases, show a deep respect for the environment that is noteworthy.

BARRANCA VALLE, Valle de Bravo, Mexico City, 2015

Kalach’s concern about the emerging problems of the vast city is reflected in his work: from the $5,000.00 USD minimal house, to his housing developments or to the largest project ever conceived for the Valley of Mexico Basin called México Ciudad Futura (Return to the city of Lakes), that embraces the city as a whole, studied through its Geography.

PHILOSOPHY

T.A.X. -Architects

A lab, a greenhouse, and learning team, architects at T.A.X. have created a space to question, explore, and redefine…space, that is devoted to transcending geographic, economic and temporal constraints ingrained in every project. The aim is to turn them into an opportunity to build, finding solutions that not only respect and celebrate the environment but also serve a cultural context.

A.K. + T.A.X.

Thinker, builder, preserver, Alberto Kalach and his youthful lab T.A.X.-have forged their place in contemporary architecture by creating spaces that celebrate the creative process itself. With a practical yet playful dialogue between growth and simplicity, texture and light, all greys spring green and structures flow organic, by turning the garden into the heart of their dancing geometry, while letting light breathe in, with weaving wild materials. They are soothing in the most tactile ways…be it for life, work, or simply for arts sake. This workshop is a learning team set for discovery. They say, they only build what they love.
